PAUL LINEHAN

West Sussex County Councillor - Reform UK

About Paul

Home of Common Sense is a platform focused on encouraging clear thinking and open discussion at a time when public debate is often shaped by entrenched political narratives and media-driven consensus. Rather than following prevailing assumptions, the platform offers commentary grounded in evidence and practical reasoning.

The aim is to make space for independent viewpoints, especially those underrepresented in mainstream discourse. By encouraging critical reflection on policy, governance, and social values, the platform seeks to promote greater accountability and a more balanced public conversation.

Its approach is rooted in the belief that government should be efficient, transparent, and focused on outcomes that serve the public interest. It supports policies built on fairness, practicality, and evidence, not ideology. It also advocates for personal responsibility, competent economic management, and social cohesion, recognising that effective public institutions rely on strong communities and individual freedoms.

Commentary spans a range of topics including education, justice, policing, social care, infrastructure, civil liberties, national security, and economic policy. Rather than offering easy answers, the platform promotes informed debate that respects complexity and focuses on principles rather than slogans.

The platform maintains that progress should not come at the cost of national identity or long-standing democratic values. It supports reforms that preserve the rule of law, equal opportunity, and institutional integrity.
